About James & Tara Overton
James was born in South Dakota. At a young age his parents introduced him to the Virgin Islands on a family trip. He fell in love with Caribbean blue water and the serenity of the islands. He has lived on all three islands (St Croix, St Thomas and St John) for 31 years. He chose St John to be his home as the island optimized what he had always dreamed about living in a tropical island with a beautiful white sand beach, tradewind breezes and amazing view. He was one of the contractors to joined and completed the Westin hotel resort in St. John and Ritz Carlton in St Thomas. He had fulfilled his dream by building Mandavilla Properties ( Ylang Ylang, Ginger Thomas Mandavilla Rose, Alexandra Cottage and The Mandavilla) with an amazing view and location. James met Tara in Charleston, SC. They fell in love and together they personally operate these properties and share this beautiful piece of the island with you.
Why we chose St John
St John offers beautiful beaches and an amazing view of Caribbean water and surrounding islands. There are many hiking trails, historical ruins and 2/3 of the island is National Park.
